Late Professor H.N. Misra (1911 – 1993) was an eminent scholar, educationist, mentor and a guide who illuminated the lives and minds of all who came into personal association with him - be they ambassadors from foreign countries at the International Centre, Kanpur, research scholars, academic fraternity, students and society at large. During his earlier professional term as professor of English at V.S.S.D. PG College, Kanpur and later as Vice-Chancellor of Kanpur University. He constantly strived for higher and yet higher levels of academic excellence.
In the year 1972 he laid the foundation of International Centre College of Education to provide quality teacher-training at Under Graduate (B.Ed.) and Post Graduate (M.Ed.) levels. The institution has now grown immensely and is now named as professor H.N. Misra College of Education as a humble tribute to the memory of our Founder Late professor H.N. Misra.
The college is situated in the heart of the Kanpur City but still far from the hum-drum of the city and situated among the quiet and calm green surroundings and pollution free environment. The college premises are well ventilated providing a conducive teaching and learning opportunities to the students seeking to pursue their teacher training programme. Various Seminars at the National level, Workshops on various current problems of education are organized from time to time to broaden the mental horizon of the teacher-trainees.
The college fulfils all the requirements of the students and provides adequate facilities of a well equipped library, sports ground, laboratories, auditorium, multipurpose hall, spacious and well ventilated class-rooms.
Besides conducting academic activities, the college provides various social service programmes like literacy programmes, health awareness program and medical checkups etc. In a nutshell, the college focuses on imparting theoretical as well as practical aspects of knowledge so that the students may be well equipped to face the various challenges of life in their later years.
